While all of our lab computers are configured to automatically install our network printers, there may be times when you wish to connect a personal machine to print. This guide will show you how to do so on some of the more popular operating systems.

NOTICE: Due to the PrintNightmare exploit revealed in July 2021, Microsoft has severely impacted printing from off-domain computers. These directions are now deprecated and are not guaranteed to work.

1. Connect to the Campus VPN.
2. Open the Start Menu.
3. In the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu, enter \\econfs001.umd.edu.
4. Enter your UMD username and password in the security prompt.
5. The file explorer will list the network printers. Right click on the printer you wish to add and click Connect.
6. Your printer is now added to your computer and is ready to print.
