Scan to E-mail

This tutorial will show you how to email yourself a scanned copy of a document using the Ricoh Aficio MP 5001 Copier in 3105 Tydings Hall.

  • Press the “Scanner” button to get into the Scanner mode.

  • To configure the file type you want the scan to be in, press the “Send File Type/Name” button.

  • Available options are TIFF/JPEG[Image formats] or PDF. The High Compression PDF option is available if you need to have a small file size. As you can see, there are options for single page or multi page scanning. Press “OK” when done.

  • Now press the “E-mail” tab and then the “Search Destination” tab.

  • Now press the “ECON” button to search our address book, and then press the “Name” button.

  • Type in your name [Even a part of your name should suffice] and press “OK”.

  • Now press “Start Search”.

  • When your email entry shows up, press on it to select it as shown and then press “OK”.

  • Now place the document in the copier as shown. If you have multiple pages, you may use the ADF function to feed the sheets automatically. To do this, place the sheets as a stack, removing all staples, on the ADF tray (located on the top of the copier).

  • Press “Start” to start scanning.

  • Press “#” if done scanning or place any additional documents to be scanned.
